Many people have questions about courts and cases that are pending.
All Connecticut and Federal courts are drastically limiting court appearances to an excepted few types of cases. For state court cases, you can check the Judicial Branch website to see when your case has been continued to; we will reach out to our clients to inform you of continued dates.
If you are arrested now, in many cases, you will be given a non surety bond (meaning you don't need to post any money) so you won't be at risk to be incarcerated pretrial and given a summer court date to allow the courts to catch up.
The Dept. of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons are both restricting visitors -- only very few professional visits will be allowed until further notice. However, DOC and the Federal Bureau of Prisons are permitting lawyers access to clients by phone.
If you are arrested for a DUI, your DMV hearing could well be put off as many of the DMVs and courthouses are closing. You will need to pay close attention and stay in touch with us. Rest assured we will keep in touch with you by phone and email.
When necessary, we are conducting limited in office meetings in compliance with all governmental health guidelines. We will also communicate via Skype, FaceTime and WhatsApp.
Please be safe and obey all governmental health and other orders.
